Во время финальной процессии Randoli один из слонов вышел из-под контроля и вызвал панику среди зрителей. Инцидент произошёл в воскресенье вечером. По словам погонщиков, слон начал вести себя необычно после того, как оказался рядом со слонихой. Разъярённое животное начало разбрасывать коврики, простыни и другие вещи людей, а собравшаяся толпа в панике разбежалась в поисках безопасного места. Погонщики пытались успокоить слона, но безуспешно. На место прибыли ветеринары, которые усыпили животное транквилизатором. Из-за происшествия процессия задержалась примерно на два часа. Танцевальным группам и артистам пришлось обходить главный вход и присоединяться к шествию через другой выход на территории храма. Представитель храма Ранджит Удаякумара Диссанаяке сообщил, что в результате инцидента никто не пострадал. По словам погонщиков, причиной необычного поведения слона стало его нахождение рядом со слонихой.

🟡На Шри-Ланке могут закрыть ещё несколько национальных парков Власти предупреждают: если жара и засуха усилятся, временные ограничения могут распространить и на другие парки. С 14 сентября по 15 октября уже закрыты блоки 1 и 2 национального парка Яла. Блоки 3–6 остаются открытыми. Главная проблема — пересыхающие источники воды. Департамент дикой природы говорит, что следит за ситуацией и при необходимости будет подвозить воду животным. Возможные новые закрытия будут зависеть от погоды и влияния El Niño. При этом wildlife-туризм остаётся большим бизнесом для страны. За первые шесть месяцев 2026 года национальные парки и другие природные объекты посетили 1,38 млн человек, а доход составил 4,28 млрд рупий. Яла остаётся самым популярным и прибыльным парком: более 459 тыс. посетителей и около 2,1 млрд рупий выручки за полгода. Власти подчёркивают: если погодные условия ухудшатся, приоритетом останется защита животных и экосистем, даже если для этого придётся временно закрыть больше парков. Источник
